REAL ESTATE TAXES
In the midst of a terrible economy, this would be the worst possible time to raise taxes on anyone. Too many families and too many businesses are struggling to get by. I will not support a tax increase of any kind. Furthermore, the federal tax code is too complicated and misaligned. It should be completely overhauled as a means to promote growth and encourage more domestic economic investment.
PENSION
The pension crisis has been one of the most pressing issues facing llinois as public pensions have continued to eat up a bigger portion of the state's budget every year.
EDUCATION
Chico believes Illinois schools should be among the best in the nation—and he knows that making historic cuts isn’t the way to do it. He'll work every day to strengthen our public education system, from K-12 to our technical colleges and university system.
FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY
Chico Perez is a write-in candidate for governor who has met a payroll and balanced a budget in the private sector. He knows how to make responsible decisions that keep a balance sheet in the black while creating jobs because she’s spent his career doing it.
Chico will take the same private sector approach he applied starting his own businesses. His focus: put Illinois back on sound financial footing by making responsible decisions about spending while protecting the things that make the economy grow, like good schools, affordable health care and sound infrastructure.
INDIVIDUAL FREEDOM
There are principles I share with a majority of Illinois citizens. I believe that we should promote a culture that values life and protects the innocent, especially the unborn. I also believe that we must protect traditional marriage, keeping it clearly defined as between one man and one woman. Being pro-life and believing in the sanctity of marriage are my deeply held personal convictions. I will not waver in defending them if I have the privilege of serving you as Governor of Illinois.
